This is a quick and easy way to remove labels from jars, bottles or tins. I have tried it on glass bottles and tin cans for some of my up cycling DIYs. You can go ahead with other activities as most of the time is for soaking the labels to make them easier to remove form the containers. I have seen a number of variations which make use of oils and this is my method of choice.
This is what you will need.
Dishwashing liquid (Sunlight liquid)
Bicarbonate of soda or scouring powder (Vim)
1. Put some water in your sink, add some dishwashing liquid and make some bubbles.
2. Soak the containers with the labels you want to remove for about 30 minutes.
3. Check to see if you can peel off the label with your hands, if not soak for a few more minutes.
4. Remove as much of the label as you can and scrub the residue with the bicarb or scouring powder.
